CatchSmart website
CatchSmart builds and maintains IT systems for government agencies and businesses. But their website wasn’t keeping up. They needed a fresh, modern design that speaks to customers and organizes their vast list of services in a simple, user-friendly way. I created the design and brought it to life on WordPress, ensuring it’s highly responsive and accessible. The new site simplifies complicated terms and technicalities, making CatchSmart’s skills, specialties, and services easy to understand for all users.

The goal
The objective was to create a user-friendly WordPress website for CatchSmart, an IT solution company, that is responsive to mobile and tablet views. The website needed to include multiple pages detailing the company’s services, contact information, and other essential details. Additionally, a language switcher for three languages was required. The site had to appeal to potential customers and job applicants, making it easy to navigate and visually engaging.

My role
I was responsible for the entire project, from start to finish. This included creating a sitemap, arranging the content, designing the website and then developing it. To complement the updated website, I was also tasked with refreshing CatchSmart’s brand identity by tweaking their logo and color scheme. After presenting the design to the company executives, I developed the website using WordPress, Elementor and some code.

Challenges
This was my first-ever WordPress project, which brought a steep learning curve. Ensuring WordPress could support my unconventional design ideas was a significant challenge. As a designer, I often think outside the box, but implementing these ideas in WordPress wasn’t always straightforward. This project taught me a great deal about WordPress development and the challenges front-end developers face when working from a design mockup.
Design process.
I started by listing out the needs of both the client and site visitors, which I used to build a sitemap. From there, I created wireframes and designed mockups, along with a working prototype. Throughout the process, I kept refining the sitemap and wireframes to make sure we were on track for the best possible outcome. Once the final design got the green light, I brought it to life in WordPress using Elementor.
